World Radio

Over the Internet you can now listen to radio stations from around the world, as well as many local stations. Mostly it still doesnt make too much sense to use the net for local radio, but it is useful for instance, to pick up overseas stations and hear the news from other countries. Note that, if listening through your computer, the sound can also stop at times when you may be working on other parts of the Internet, (and by doing so be using up your computers capacity to also process sound at the same time). Radio links require their own software to be heard , and you will need to download such software, and also have speakers and a sound card in your computer too, before you can hear stations. The download is usually an easy process, initiated when you select a radio link. You mostly have to download the software only once and your computer can find it automatically next time you need it.
