The Budget

Agedhealth For pensionable Seniors, the budget promised to index future pensions to the highest of three indicators, CPI, average national wage and a new cost of living index for seniors. It also increased a range of allowances such as gas/electricity/water and more, and made provision for another $500 grant. It seems to me that this is a good budget for seniors, for which we should be grateful. Now we need to have the government drill down into the next level issues of aged health care and housing, and come up with productive and affordable initiatives here as well. The facilitation of seniors employment for those who wish to work is also a growing national priority, as also an urgent review of the livable value of the base pension.[Editorial modified 19 May]

i have been reading some comments on hear regarding the budget and most of them are hogwash ,do any of you commenting on budget have to pay rent of 190 per week plus feed clothe pay utilities forget about entertaining  the only reasonrudd gave us bonus was that people complained the next bonus will be in the election year

also regarding careers pensions/allowances they get paid a pittance to care for loved ones and the goverment state and federal know it as was stated on tv the otherday carers save goverments  thousand of dollars in hospital and nursing home fees  by staying home and looking after people so if the goverments really care the 100 per fortnight should be raised to 300

pensioners get 2dollars per fortnight rise politicians get 200 so who has got their priorities wrong

any way thats my tuppence worth
