Peter Macinnis

Peter Macinnis is a one-time science teacher. He now writes (and occasionally broadcasts on the ABC) on matters related to science. He has been working with computers since 1963, and spent some years as a teacher of computing as well as working in IT for many years.

He does not have interests so much as temporary obsessions, but his hobbies include walking-pace plant taxonomy, [identifying plants without stopping and musing at rocks]. Recent books have looked at the effects on society of sugar over the past millennium, how rockets have changed the world, and a history of poisons and poisoners.
